  First time experience was great! Marco was out waiter. He knew the menu very well and took his time going over any questions we had. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, as was the owner who took the time to go to each table and personally introduce himself and offer any requests.
  
  Would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and ill be going back very soon!

  Extremely disappointed with this place. Booked a few weeks in advance for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We were led to a table that wasn't prepared in a dark and dingy part of the restaurant and requested to be moved to a different table. After being sat down for 5 minutes an incredibly rude lady (presumably the manager) wanted us to move back to the original table to make way for another reservation. Her manner was curt and she handled the situation extremely poorly. We couldn't have ate an anniversary dinner on the dingy table so subsequently left to Ono which is just down the road, which was excellent and a much more romantic setting.
  
  We won't be heading back to Donatello because of the staff but also because of the funny cheese smell throughout the place

  The hype for this restaurant is over rated. Initially I wrote on my reservation that this was for a birthday and they did nothing. Second the new server was horrible, he had no guidance and so many times we just sat there menus closed waiting. He didn't know key signs of knowing when a customer is ready to order. The pasta sauce was watery and didn't have much flavor it was like the mushrooms came out of a can, and the flour in the alfredo sauce was not cooked enough. There are several other Italian restaurants I would rather spend my money at. Drinks were the only positive thing about our experience.

  This is a great Italian restaurant in downtown Toronto. They took great care in dealing with my food allergies. They even made me a special dessert accommodating my allergy. They have a quaint patio out front which is great for dining on a nice night.
