  Ok this isn't a fancy place with great appearance and skilled staff but the food is amazing. I am Portuguese and have been all around Toronto to enjoy Portuguese cuisines and no better bang for your buck than here. Get the bife a casa.

  It's really a 2 star but gets a 3rd star for the outdoor seating. The inside seating area is circa 1975 it's hot and un-charming. It was typically busy today as every weekend. Ordered veal chop..undercooked pink, tough and sinewey with cap left on, fries are frozen and overcooked and cold.

  I try not to review places badly, but this place badly disappointed.
  Not much taste and overpriced.
  
  Broccoli was tasteless, potatoes didn't have much flavor, it was $19 for one halibut dish. My friend did not have cutlery to cut his bread at first, and the server took his plate away so he ate his bread over the bread basket. My halibut was burnt.
  I've had much better broccoli and potatoes before. Halibut was ok but overpriced.
  My friend said his quail also tasted like burnt. Not very good portion size (not full afterwards).
  
  I've had much tastier and filling meals for $7 at Independent City Market.

  I love this place. It is a great spot to get authentic Portuguese cuisine in Toronto. I especially love the Bacalhau à Brás. It is an amazing dish made with salted cod, a Portuguese staple!! A must stop when you are in Toronto.

  Service was fast. A little too fast. The chicken I ordered came really quickly and it was blatantly obvious it had been pre-cooked then reheated on the grill. Not just by the speed but the fact the chicken was dry. Not overly dry, but dry nonetheless. It was still tasty, but if you're going to hype something up as your speciality, put the effort in to make it as good as possible, cook it to order, make it with pride. The side salad was great and the whole meal offered good value for money with a nice beer and coffee to finish
