  History! Once a small convenience store, expanded in the 70s and built the restaurant around a tree. Kit Kat pays them royalties for their name. Italian food is fresh delicious and service is outalstanding. Reservations are a good idea.

  Not sure why we bothered with reservations. We were there on time, and watched all the walk-in diners without reservations get seated before us. Finally 45 minutes after our reservation time we were seated, next to the bar, with everyone walking by and the bar patrons rear ends in our face. When I asked the owner why our reservation wasn't ready, he said he couldn't afford lose business with the walk-ins! We reserved on-line and he had confirmed! Dinner was mediocre. My pasta was swimming in tomato sauce. When the waiter asked if we wanted pepper, and we answered "no", he proceeded to put pepper on our dishes. The whole experience was a joke. If you want good service, great food, for the same price, go to Il Fornello. It was our first, and last, time here.

  A well deserved 5 stars for this hole in the wall restaurant. We showed up without a reservation and John said he would do some hokey pokey to get us in. So glad he did. A packed house on a Saturday night, elbow to elbow. Great service, attentive but not hovering. Started with a Campari and soda at the bar, then we were quickly seated. On to a great Cesar salad, rigatoni with a wonderful, fresh rose sauce, with beef and artichoke, a glass of wine - perfect. A great place for before the theatre, or make a reservation and talk all night. Will definitely come back.
