  There is no mention on the Hugh's Room "GoFundMe" page of compensating the staff who worked their butts off for the last 3 weeks HR was open. It was a very busy 3 weeks with more than a few sold out shows. We spent a week tracking down Richard to find out where our pay cheques were. He had gone AWOL. When he finally showed his face at the club we were told that not only were we not going to get paid, we also didn't have jobs anymore.
  Nice way to treat staff who were apparently so important to Richard. A month later we are still trying to get our Records of Employment, some people need to collect UI to pay the rent!!, but as per usual Richard has not returned anyone's calls, emails or texts.
  I spoke with Brian Iler, the lawyer who is part of the "rebuilding" committee and he told me that the committee doesn't feel obligated to pay the staff with proceeds from any fundraisers etc because it's Richards problem. Nor do they have any intention in refunding people who bought tickets for shows. It should be noted that before Richard made a public announcement that Hugh's Room was closing, he still wanted to take peoples payments for tickets to upcoming shows that he knew were not going to happen. The office manager put a stop to this the instant she found out.
  There is a lot of goodwill out there for Hugh's Room and nobody had more than the the staff who suffered all summer with bounced pay cheques, trying to track down an AWOL Richard, dealing with vendors who demanded payments etc. In the end, we all got shafted. Now we are trying to get our Records of Employment so we can move on, but as usual Richard is no where to be seen except for media interviews.

  Went to see Dakha Brakha there on a Wednesday evening. It was packed and had really great energy. Four of us shared two of the appetiser platters and drinks. Will go again, so great to see them back.

  Went here for a concert. It is perfect small place for type concert. Bar was quick to get orders ready. Washrooms were fair in terms of cleanliness. very good place
